HUICHOL LOVE Video
Without a doubt what I love the most about creating the HUICHOL LOVE jewelry collection is the time I spend at the Huichol Center for Cultural Survival.
The Center, created and directed by Susana Valadez, is an organization that empowers Huichol people to maintain their spiritual, artistic, and cultural heritage in this modern world.
Several times a year, I visit the Center to work with the Huichol people there. From my home in Sayulita, I take a half-hour taxi, a five hour bus ride, and then an overnight bus ride before arriving in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountains.
Earlier this year, filmmaker Leah-Lani Griffin accompanied me on one of my trips to visit the Huichol Center for Cultural Survival. Take a peek into the Huichol Center and into the HUICHOL LOVE process.
Thank you, Leah-Lani.
Thank you, Susana Valadez.
Thank you, Imelda Cruz de la Rosa.
Thank you, Dueto Huichol Maxa Keta.
Thank ALL of you at the Huichol Center.
Muchas gracias.
And much love. HUICHOL LOVE.
